I was previously getting on average of $0.50 per click on one of my sites. My ad placements aren't optimized for CTR though. I'm more focused on branding than I am making money at this point. However I did a bit of experimenting last week and moved an ad into a more prominent position (although still not "in your face"). My CPC shot up this week to $3.00+ Does this increase have something to do with the increased CTR? or is it just coincidence? That small change has increased my adsense revenue by 400%. Now I'm starting to wonder what kind of earnings I would be bringing in if I placed the ads inside or above the article. If the CTR shot up on those ads (which they definitely would), would CPC go up even further?
it could. ads are displayed in order depending on their individual ecpm. and the first ad block in your html code is the one which has the best paying ads. by moving your ad blocks around you may change the average cpc too
If your ads were built upon high paying keywords and placed in a good position, then your earnings will increase.
