Huge AWStats problem! Please help!

When I open AWStats and go to "Links from an external page (other web sites except search engines)" section, I see that a lot of traffic comes from non-existing websites! What's going on?

    Thanks!

Those are spoofed referrers.. Unfortunately, there is very little you can do about it..

htaccess-guide.com/deny-visitors-by-referrer is one way to deal with it.. Hope it helps

Awstats has confused me too. I couldn't get exactly how many visitors have visited my site.

these referrers are probably from referrer spoofing bots. You would likely not see them if you used google analytics instead of awstats.

It is better to use 2 statistics software, so using both analytics and awstats will help you to find out the real situation (statics) by comparison.
