Huge Adsense increase - luck or something sinister?!

My Adsense revenue (and the number of visitors to my site) increased by a factor of 10 since yesterday...

The site has been live for a while, but has never turned over as much as this!

The click through rate has remained more or less the same - it just seems that I got 10 times more visitors today...

The weird thing is that there is no real reason that I can see for it. The other thing is that all the visitors came from MSN, when they usually come from Google...

Could someone be trying to stuff up my Adsense account by 'click-frauding'? It looks like all of the visitors are unique, but I can't help think that something is not right... (maybe I'm too paranoid, but this site has been subject to a kind of denial fo service attack where the same file is hit every 20 seconds from a huge range of different IP addresses)

Anyone else had something similar happen?

Drop an email to Adsense support and explain everything there. There are horror stories of members from DP whose accounts got suspended on the basis of a sudden boom in traffic.

the givien adviced to contact and report to Google certainly is valid

be happy about the increased traffic - may be you just have a potential customer group using more MSN search than other search.
for example the hotel/tourist industry as far as i could see on a hotel site i optimized a year ago gets more than 50% value traffic frm Yahoo while myself i always had top serps at Y but near zero value traffic from Y.

MSN has very substantially increased its efforts to index all pages and the serps are more or less exactly the same as for G once a page is fully indexed. hence for thos markets having a customer basis more among msn users that would certainly result in a substantial traffic increase as soon as the relevant pages are indexed. also tghe alexa toolbar uses msn results which further increases the potential shift toward msn for some market shares.

hope you keep what you have no in increase and enjoy your increased adsense $

add an rss feed if you have none so far - to keep mymsn users in touch with your site as well

I don't think you need to contact adsense. If you have a sudden increase in traffic, it could be due to many reasons. It does necessarily mean fraud.
As long as the clicks are valid, there should not be any problem.

I would contact Google too, but I really wouldn't worry about it. When my articles were on a major site's home page two months ago, my traffic went up 6,000+ visitors each day. I jumped hundreds of dollars in profit from AdSense....I never had any explaining to do. I think that they know when the traffic source is shady.
