guerilla, thanks for that list. It pretty much confirms what I've been saying, that he has no accomplishments, has never passed any meaningful legislation, has never led. Basically what you posted is, he's run for office. A few heard of and unheard of organizations have endorsed him, and he's been a member of a few committees. No accomplishments, no legislation? There is a hint that he may have helped pass legislation for the benefit of Veterans. This would be good. Is that pretty much all he's done?
He could walk on water and it'd still not be 'anything' Afterall being a corrupt, lying asshole is better since he might of at one time been responsbile for a budget.
I am not surprised at all that people are now on the attack against huckabee...after all, he is leading most of the polls in terms of the GOP...I guess when there is no chance that your guy (RP supporters, take note) will win, you do the only thing you can...which is try to tear down every one that is ahead of you. Not to long ago this was the trend for Mitt and Rudy.
You are very welcome my friend. Thanks! Fixed that up for you. Now all we need is to get you in a Texas MeetUp group! Woohoo! Well, I know you printed it off to read in the bathroom, but I'll go through it again because the list I posted was pretty lengthy and full. Co-Founder of the US Gold Commission First member of House to propose Term Limits Co-sponsor of legislation that successfully repealed the earnings limitation on Social Security. Seniors now continue working after retirement without being penalized By successfully amending other legislation, he has also barred International Criminal Court jurisdiction over the U.S. military (2002), American participation in any U.N. "global tax" (2005), and surveillance on peaceful First Amendment activities by citizens (2006) Helped to pass the Veterans' Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2006 in Congress. The act is designed to help military veterans cope with the rising cost of living by tying increases in benefits to inflation.
Yet you guys tear down someone not in the lead. I actually brought the rape point up well before Huck had any sort of lead..
d16, my candidate has been getting attacked on this forum for 3 months. Back when he was polling 1%. And I do not believe there is no chance we can win. Iowa and New Hampshire are going to bury other campaigns, not ours. We're the only ones besides Rudy running a national campaign and with the war chest to keep going until after Super Tuesday.
What most people fail to realize is that their very own future is at risk here. Your liberties, your careers, your freedoms, your finances, everything! Why don't all the RP bashers and skeptics instead of wasting their energy arguing about baseless claims about the guy, do some research on him and they too will find that RP is the right man, a noble man, the right man that will defend your rights, uphold the constitution, restore faith in America, faith that it has lost during the Bush tyranny and put aside your bone/strong headed behaviour and open your mind.
I disagree. Huckabee remains strong and is still continuing to grow. I admire the rare optimism, especially given that RP, in the most generous of polls, still hovers at 5%. I have no idea what you are referring to regarding a "national campaign," but to assume others are not working nationally might be an understatement. The latest data I've read is that Huckabee is now raising more money daily, then RP. Of course, there is still the tea party event. I plan to create a "Huckabee Updates" thread later this week with some remarkable information. I'm sure it will get torn down a little at first, not unlike your RP thread did, but eventually, if the loons can contain themselves, it might serve as a good update thread. I wish you were this optimistic about America!
OH so close Gtech! With a little more work your posts will be insult free. Maybe next time we can work the insult to the last sentence and eventually out all together. Keep up the good progress!
I disagree. I can understand the "younger" generation making such claims, but I've been around a long time. I've come to know that there are no men in black suits driving Crown Victorias that hang out around my house, spying on me. Our country is better than that. We have more liberty, better freedoms, a better way of life, then just about anywhere else in the world. And you know what? It's ok to say that. Creating unnecessary fear, doom and gloom is not going to go over well with the average person. They know better. Sure, not everything is always 100% perfect, but it never has been and it never will. There have always been people who have lost jobs, there have always been hunger, poverty, etc. Ron Paul does have some good ideas. I'll be the first, not even reluctantly, to admit so. But some of them are fringe and so far out there, I have no doubt it would tear our country down, before it ever did any good. I also believe some of the cheese on his nachos has slid off over the years. Dismantling the CIA, the FBI and other government agencies is not a good idea, no matter how anti-government/anarchist someone might be. We won't know *anything* until the primaries. While Huckabee is riding a storm of surge, despite the hit pieces on him (just like you, I don't like hit pieces on my guy either, but the wheels on the bus go round and round), as we've seen in past elections, what polls suggest and what really happens are two different stories. Howard Dean was all but written in as the dem nominee last time, only to have John "Christmas in Cambodia" Kerry come out of no where to take hold. Time will tell.
We're not even starting our Iowa campaign until December 26th. The Iowa Independent had us 3rd in their latest power rankings. No one in the GOP has this size in grassroots and only Rudy may have more state offices. Do you know how much money is saved by not having to hire professional ballot petitioners or donate to County GOP groups to get delegate slates filled? Just the calm before the storm. Grassroots organizers have actually requested that the campaign stop soliciting for donations this week, to build up the money bomb. I think you should do this, and wish you had done it before. And I will fight for your right to keep it update based, without people trashing it. Oh but I am my friend, oh but I am. The spirit of Revolution has always been the soul of America.
This has probably been about the only intelligent thing said in this thread aside from what Wade has posted... That's pretty sad.. It seems lately that all these threads are started to do nothing other than attack a small group of people here for whatever reason.. Can we get back to having actually intelligent discussions about real issues rather than trying to bait people into submission? It's really getting annoying...
