He better not win. Why would we want a former baptist minister as our President???

I think if you listen to the entire clip you will find that this is in reference to marriage.

Still a bold statement that I am sure will be widely mis-quoted.

Sometimes taking things in the context in which they were said is way too easy...

That's quite true. Everyone complains about stories being spun and such, not referring to just the OP but everyone in general, and then people post stuff like this.

It's absurd. Certainly he's going to get the evangelical vote but I'm hopeful the rest of America =

As far as those who say we should take it "in context." There is absolutely no context where such words are acceptable. Furthermore, I saw the clip where he said this, yes it's about amending the constitution to make abortion illegal. OK, there's the context, it's still absolutely nuts. What context should we be hearing this in? Our constitution has nothing to do with this nutjob's God.

Just like there is no context where spouting racist views, then writing them down in a newsletter for all the world to see is not acceptable... ?

    Taken out of context.

From what I understand, he was referring to amending the Constitution to define that human life begins at the moment of conception.

Thus, under the Declaration of Independence, it would be a unalienable human right, and not to be usurped without due process of the law as a result of criminal behavior, etc, etc...

For those that support murdering babies, they might not get it. If you are pro-life, it would make sense.

    No logic in this statement.

If the absence of a heart beat is death, then the presence of a heartbeat is life.

A baby's heart begins to beat at five weeks.

Many do hold services for their unborn children that die in the womb.

Big difference. One thing actually happened. The other thing didn't. There's no proof that Ron Paul wrote any of the stuff in that newsletter, while Huckabee obviously said the things he said, as he's on video doing so. I suggest looking up the term "ghostwriter." I use them myself all the time. Try the content creation forum.

Actually the fact that Huckabee is on video saying this insane garbage is good point in relation to the whole Ron Paul newsletter deal. If Paul were really a racist don't you think he would have been caught on tape at least once saying something racist?

I don't have to use a ghostwritten newsletter as proof that Huckabee is a nutjob, all the evidence that is needed comes right out of his own mouth and is recorded onto tape.

Or recorded digitally, the format doesn't really matter.

    That last bit was funny.
