Gather is definitely my #2 resource after Squidoo. A very good site to work with.

I am a squidooing fool. I love it, get backlinks, make money.

I hear hub is pretty close, some even swear it is better.

There is no real reason to have an alternative. If you mean
other places to do the same thing, well, go for it.

My advice would be to not replace squidoo or hub, but use it
to the to the fullest. Squidoo for me is one heck of a powerhouse.

No need for me to look for an alternative. And I don't have time to
do any other program like it.

You can always consider blog reviews as a means of a Hub Page, better in 100 ways as well.

    Here look at this site

    http://www.submitstartup.com

It provides some good startup blogs you can try.

I agree Stephen, I think Squidoo is an amazing system too, but I like to spread the risk a little - what if Squidoo get bought out, sell to a compeititor, change their policies, increase the amount of advertising they put on each page to sources that are not useful to you, develop a quality score based system which determines if you are allowed a DOfollow link or not... etc.

Also having links from multiple sources around the internet does help your SEO too rather than having them all from one place. Having said all this I would still recommend people to focus on Squidoo, but just not to put all eggs in one basket.
