Fars i know, Hubpages works fine for everyone, don't think of it as your primary form of revenue though
HubPages is definitely not a scam. I think my earnings are good considering the small amount of effort I've put on (I've been there two years and written less than one Hub a week, and earned around $600 at last check). I've tried other writing sites and HubPages has paid the best, so far. Here's an article my pal Hal Licino wrote about article writing sites and how badly some of them pay. I feel I've got other benefits from HubPages as well. For internet newbies like me, HubPages is a good way to start learning about website building, SEO and all those good things. Without my experience on HubPages, I wouldn't have had the confidence or the knowledge to start my own sites, and they wouldn't have performed nearly as well. And now, I use my Hubs to get good backlinks to my own sites, so I get the double whammy of earning money off the Hub itself, and getting the backlink as well. An awful lot of people join HubPages, try it for two or three months and give up because the earnings are so poor. Truth is, it takes time for paying traffic to start coming in, just like it does for your own blog. Most people give up before it starts to arrive. I'm glad I didn't.
O.K True, Turn your comment around and it says Hubpages is worth nothing, am I correct. So all these people are writing for a worthless Site, Is this what you are saying?
Same like DP where you have an ad revenue sharing, yet in 5 years being top poster I have made a total of $25. Hubpages gave me some traffic and DP did a lot for me traffic wise. Nothing in this world is free. Build your own site on your own domain and have a paid hosting account so you can hold services accountable. Hubpages is a playground and it works for the owner and for some of the members.
I guess the hubpages is not about earning bucks but its about driving traffic. I don't really see using hubpages as a source of my earnings but it's only traffic.
its good to have a domain. i have a hosted wordpress blog and i end up updating regularly sincewordpress updates too from 2.7.1 to 2.8.1 and i hate it. i suggest if you are not techie enough and want to concentrate on your contents then stay with blogspot. its all just fine infact google owns it. if hubpages is a scam dont post articles to them
yea so true, due to its popularity and high pr, people take great advantage of the traffic..however you cant put more than 2 links on it. There are also people who really make big on hub and Im soon goin to be on the list
I use hubpages (as well as squidoo lenses) mainly for learning (e.g. practising SEO etc.) and of course for creating backlinks to own websites/blogs. I was astonished of how fast hubs get indexed by google (actually within hours).
I use hubpages a long time ago and never make money with it but the traffic it can generate is quite good. So I stick with mainly for the purpose of getting traffic and ranking as well. Thanks JulieV
True in deed. Most people (members of hubpages) who had put in a lot of hard work and efforts but with little success might be forced to think that it is a scam. As you said, it is an instant success for the owner and very few members but not to everyone who had taken part in the labor. There is no proportionate return. Think twice before you jump...
