Hubpages and social bookmarking

Hi, I'm starting to use social bookmarking sites and squidoo to build backlinks.

Where do hubpages fit into all of this ? What are they, how do they help and how do you use them ? Thanks..

 

HubPages is a *great* source of backlinks in my opinion. But you have to write articles of a reasonable quality and have a Hub score over 75 for your links to be dofollow.

Hubpages is a very useful source indeed! You get to build do-follow backlinks once you start writing regularly.

I heard somewhere that Google is cracking down on backlinks that are created by using the social media scene so that the backlinks in the social media will eventually no longer count if google sees that you are up to creating multiple backlinks using social bookmarking and the like. Can anyone verify this? I only heard it from one source in a video message.

 

Yes, it is the case on a continual basis, especially with Google. As soon as they see that a particular marketing method is being exploited beyond limits, they come up with changes to discount it.

 

So is the strategy to just write many articles and create several hubs on your hubpages account? Have them all point to your site to get backlinks? Does google care that they all come from the same domain (hubpages) or is it better to go to other web2.0 places?

 

HubPages works well if you want to publish articles and make money with Adsense.

Can you get rich using HubPages? I think not.

But if you don't want to put all your eggs in the one basket, it's a good way to spread it out.

 

HubPage is indeed nice and helpful for some low weight websites wish to get some serps.

 

Hubpages like squidoo is great for not only backlinks but for ranking for longtail keywords if you use it right. Anyone with 50 or more hubs on one subject knows their value. But you have to take the time to do it right.

 

I agree with Hoodala, Hubpages is great for ranking for longtail keywords. In many cases, I've found that Hubpages ranks better then Squidoo.
