There is no difference between www and non-www. Make subdomains only if you have a lot of content for that subdomain.

Once, I was too looking for its answer and I got it from an expert webmaster in Bing webmaster Forum.

    http://xyz.com is better than http://www.xyz.com
The one reason for it that search engine always look for root domain name and as I think www.xyz.com is a subdomain of xyz. So redirect www version to non www version.. there is no harm in it.. also generally user types without www in browser and they will redirect to www version and it may takes some time..
So I always recommend without www... like http://yoursite.com/

Depends on what you want to achieve.
subdomain of interest, when you do a separate part (quite large) site. but do so for each page makes no sense - I can ban.

No difference between www or none for visitors or SERP. I don't use www on my websites for the sake of simplicity and easier to type.

in first url fashion is the sub domain of xyz website and in second url fashion is a folder in xyz website. Sub domains are used when you have many services or products under one service. In that case you may create a separate sub domain for every service. For few products or services folders are better option

Maybe your page rank score split between the www and non www.
