Just looking around, i found that the backward links shown by google toolbar for http://www.yahoo.com is showing only 93. I wonder what is going on?? It used to be in millions, isnt it?? Anyone, found similar things?
since a while Y no longer gives exact data to general public. for your own site as well. if you want the full BL - then you need to login to your Y site explorer account. may be it no longer is possible to spy on other sites ?! same applies to DP forum Track Back Links - tool for Y - the data are totally wrong when compared to real data from Y site explorer example for my site: DP shows 9,610 ( all ) Y site explorer shows 56,214 ( entire site ) while a regular "linksite" use of Y search would show only 2

the reason for hiding ( G / Y ) is very simple. the more details major SE reveal, the more fake / cheating webmasters try to cheat on rankings the more is kept secret - the less likely such is occurring, because most of the fake ones out there are far too lazy to research BLs is ONE of many SEO factors - knowing all BLs would give SEO freaks opportunity to contact the very same sites for link exchange or to calculate the relevancy of BLs compared to overall SEO efforts. there is absolutely NO need for anyone but the site OWNER to know how many BLs he really has. spying on other sites is nothing ethical at all - just an attempt to copy others efforts to achieve same results with less work and less investment than the original sites.
