http://www. VS. http://

So guys, I lost my domain for a year but recently re-purchased it. I have had the domain for a personal total of two years, while a domain squatter sat on my domain for a year in between. I started to do SEO under the "http://" without a www. next to it. I just realized that when I first started I was using http://www. With the www. included, I have over 90 more backlinks than with the "http://" alone. Does this effect my search rankings at all? Should I switch back to "http://www." ? Is there a problem between the two that could negatively impact my SEO?
    Thanks

Yes it might be a problem if you keep both www or non www. It's better to always have www in your site domain but if you don't wanna loose your previous back links you can go with non www URL it's not a major problem. You just need to put a permanent redirection from www URL to non www URL otherwise it might be a victim of duplicate content..
