its one of the best looking scripts IMO

    demo: http://www.goguides.org/

    How is it for SEO?
and is it possible to make link submission free?

Post your url if you're using this script. I'd like to see a few more sites if I can.

    thanks

Somehow I find it incredibly hard to believe a 39 kb package is powering GoGuides. Something is not right here.

well, I personally browsed thousands of link directories. I could say that lots of link directories are powered by the script from www.freephpdirectoryscript.com . And most sites powered by www.freephpdirectoryscript.com are 1 year older site. more and more new sites are powered by phpld.

the script is good, but it needs add more functions. and the paid version is just too expensive.

That is the old Biz Directory Script, just under another name. It's absolutely horrible....the worst directory script ever. I had Port Prophecy running on it for about a year (before PHPLD really became so popular) and regretted it so much. Eventually, after starting other directories running PHPLD, I decided to get David and his team to help me convert Port Prophecy over to PHPLD and am so glad I did. :D

EDIT: By the way, I'm sure the people running GoGuides did major modifications to that script. Probably so much that it wouldn't be entirely accurate to say it runs freephpdirectoryscript.

Uncoverthenet uses a heavily modified version of this script as well.

I'm with PortProphecy on this one. When it came out, that script was the only decent directory script on the market, and the $695 version is what all the best directories used. Kwikgoblin used to use the 49.95 version.

That time has long gone, and there are now much better scripts on the market. Like PortProphecy I also had David's team convert my database to PHPLD and I'm so very happy with that decision, as it's a much superior and easier to use script.

Also, I should say that the $49.95 version doesn't have a mod rewrite; you need to get the $695.95 version for that.

Search DP and you'll find the hack here.. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=161924&postcount=2

I've used the bizscript for quite some time. It runs pretty quick and with some additional programming it's a decent script. For a directory starter is a good way to start. Phplinkdirectory, site-sift listings, tolra, cplinks, have more functionality and are a bit harder to handle when you're a starter. You can always convert from one script to another.. They are all on SQL..
