Hi all, Previously working on SEO for a http: website and now my client wants to change it to https: what kind of complication will I be looking at. I understand that the following need to be consider such as duplicate content, redirect, slowing server downloading the material from our website but are there any other issues I should be informed about. Like questions I have is will all the major search engine robots be crawling https website since majority of the sites that rank top or for major keywords are http: websites. Please give me some insight if you have any or if you have work with such situation converting from http: to https: thank you for your help in advance
In many ways, https is identical to http, because it follows the same basic protocols. Both systems use the same Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) scheme, so that resources can be universally identified. Use of https in a URI scheme rather than http indicates that an encrypted connection is desired. So I don't think that you will be facing any problem in SEO.
