http:// vs. http://www. - which one to choose?

Which one is better? Why? Any arguments?

Now Google gives me 252 hits without www and 62 with www.
Page rank is same (2) with both.

I´m running a fan site which includes a phpBB3 forum with SEO friendly modified Titles.

I would like to use http://www. because of the look.

I have gone both ways (with the appropriate redirect, of course) and have seen no difference.

 

why ? don't know exactly which is the best to use, but i think i have a feeling about http://www.

just make sure you set a 301 redirect in your .htaccess onto the preffered domain chosen

 

imo, and I believe it is good from an seo point of view, to either stick with one or the other. If you prefer http://www then redirect the non.www to that.

 

I personally prefer .www but from SEO point of view, you should just pick 1 and stick with it. Else, your inbound links will be decreased.

As the others have said, it doesn't make any difference as long as you pick one, redirect the other to it, and stick with what you chose. Also don't forget that Google Webmasters' Tools allows you to set your preferred domain as either www. or without.
