Hi guys, This is a question that has been playing on my mind for some time now, does including the www part of the domain in links make any difference to the search engines? By this I mean is it possible to have say, a PR of 5 for a http://www.domain.com and a 6 for http://domain.com, or does Google treat them as one? Hope I explained my query well enough, and I hope someone can clarify this for me. Cheers
It is my understanding that whichever url you point the links to will have PR. If as an example you have several PR 5s point to the www it will have a PR of 5 if you have several PR 6s pointing to the non www then it will have a PR of 6. So I guess to answer your question if I understood it correctly is yes you can have different PR values for the www and non www. Unless google corrects it issues with canonicals which has seem to do on the test datacenters.
