I'm looking into converting my html site to wordpress. The problem is that this is a real professional business and can't afford to have rankings drop. I've heard it shouldn't effect the rankings if everything goest well, but I can't imagine theres a guarantee for that. Does anyone have experience making this conversion? What would it entail? Could I do it myself if I have good knowledge of wordpress? Thx for the help!

    Hello,

Basically its a simple conversion between html to php . So mostly 80% costs will go same with different tags , you can search over w3schools like sites to get the correct tags , if feels then you can hire some coder for your work he'll do it with a ease .

    Regards

Sure. And I could do what your business does - if I had good knowledge of whatever it is that your business does. But you've heard the old saw, "A lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client"? It applies to other businesses as well. If web development isn't your primary or secondary field, leave it to a professional. It'll cost you a lot less in the long run.

"A good knowledge of Wordpress" isn't enough. Do you have programming experience? (Wordpress is written in PHP.) Do you know what the "method of attack" is in changing a static site into a Wordpress site?

You can just put the text of your site into articles or pages in a Wordpress site and see how it looks. (Run Wordpress on your computer using xampp.) If you like what you've done, go to your site's control panel, install Wordpress and do the same thing there.
