html site??

    I cannot get my sites to work. I'm have my hosting through godaddy. When I edit the .htacces file every time I go to my page it tries to download a file?? Is there anyway I can make the coop network work with my site?? Some please help me...

    I have just been using the IE ftp... I have not been using a cpanel...
