I am setting up a new site and wanted to do it in WP but can't find the right theme. I need a ww2 theme and can't find that. I can do a little editing of themes and I would like to keep it a blog. I don't know how to make my own theme for WP and don't know much PHP If I were to do it in HTML how could I get a lot of the SEO features as you can get with a WP blog? I can create my own HTML theme and get things the way I want them and do know the basics of SEO but am not sure if I can get the site SEO as good as a WP blog Is there anything I can do on my own that is as good as say the all in one SEO plug in? IMJim
I would suggest WP. There are so many more options available with this CMS and its easily editable. SEO on WP is also a great feature where you can add and subtract what you need in the SEO.
It depends on how good a programmer you are. I would suggest you go to site like elance and pay a programmer to build you a site.
I have no problem building my own HTML sites. I have settled on WP and am editing a theme right now to fit the bill of what I need! One of these days I need to study up on PHP and CSS and get better at that. IMJim
Hi Jim, Sam here . . . i love to help you about this stuff. . . I suggest you download the latest version of wordpress . . . then go to wp themes and copy the default folder then paste and rename it according to what is your theme all about, you can also change the info by editing the style.css - the comment tag to your info and also you can change the picture that will appear as your theme. Go to wordpress codex and there you can find very useful and step by step customizing your themes. I have created a template theme maybe this can help you. Just PM me if you're interested with. Thanks
