.html or .php for better rank?

    It doesn't matter, as long as you don't have too many variables in the URL.

    I always use html or htm

    just a personal thing ;)

    I agree I do not think it matters.

    i have a phpbb forum, and I used a search engine optimizer to change the pages to html for guests. Got more pages in search engines for me :D

    Google prefers static pages over dynamic ones. I use .HTML whenever possible.

    I would guess that .html might have a slight edge (especially if it's xhtml compliant), but as long as the page is well coded, I don't think .html vs .php is going to make much of a difference either way. Use whatever works best for you in your situation.

    Correct. Search engine spiders tend to index static URLs much quicker then dynamic ones.

    I think html is more effective than php a little, the important is, as long as you keep your pages static one, you'll got great results. My site (in sig) has been 3 months old, has been indexed for 17,000 pages in Google. :D I tried to use html as much as possible.

    Well html for me too...php gets fun but...html has an upperhand being more se friendly.

    the extension has no effect, variables in the URL of dynamic pages can cause problems tho.

    I think i have to switch, phpnuke and it's modules just make me a bit crazy, too lots of work to do..
