HTML Email, Company Email Manager

(posted to list too, SHAWN...WHERE SHOULD I POST?! Let me know..I'll stick to one or the other...or if it doens't bother you, both)

Hello, we're useing OG 3.3.2 and I'm running into some problems with the
    company email manager.

We use the email manager for support (auto assigns tickets, links to
    customer NICE!).

The system as it sits now, doesn't allow us to read html email that is
received. So I figured we would forward the email to a mailbox outside of
support to read these. Here is where the problem is:

    1. The email never shows up at the detination mailbox, here is the error
    gernerated in the sendmail logs:

    "collect: premature EOM: Error 0

collect: unexpected close on connection from (ip address)"

    2. Are there updated verions of OG that will allow the reading of html
email? Or is this in the works?

This is the "official" forum, the list is still there, but more for users to interact with each other.

No, there is nothing that has an HTML renderer within Optigold (nor any plans to build one).

Thanks Shawn. Any idea why forwarding an html email would cause that error to be generated in sendmail logs?

We can forward any non-html based email out fine.

No, I don't. Try turning on the debugger under My Stuff -> System Info

Then forward the email and check the "JavaCompanion Log" file (in the FileMaker Java Extensions folder). Maybe it will show something.

This is in the log when the mail is sent:

    javax.mail.MessagingException: IOException while sending message;
    nested exception is:
    java.io.UnsupportedEncodingException:

This is from the Java JRE installed... should we try upgrading it? What the highest version of the Sun Java JRE we can run without breaking OG?

You can use the latest version 1.4.x. Previously Authorize.Net didn't work for credit card transactions, but it does now as long as you have the latest version of CCAuthorize.

Haha, I knew it would tie into something. How do I find out which version I bought/installed from DPS? (maybe you could look it up?! Inet7)

You can check your installed versions of Optigold, and plug-ins under My Stuff -> System Info

For the emails you are forwarding and getting an error, do they have a pipe (|) in them by chance?

Well truthfully, I doubt it has to do with your version of JRE. But do check for the pipe.

Yeap, 3 "pipes" in the emails that didn't forward. I took it one step further:

I also tested plain text... sent a test message to support with "||||" (a bunch of pipes) and tried to forward back outside..... nothing shows up.

ok...so now we know its pipes...what now?

Well just to test it, try taking out the pipes in the email that would not forward, and see if it works...

Yeap, works fine when I remove the pipes....now what? How can I forward these emails that contain pipes?
