HTML code vs content ratio

    Is that more code (read html code) in a page impact search results? Anybody have success story in getting better results after moving to valid xhtml/css.

    Also with css , pages load quicker so best for end user..

    Maybe a search engine will give up with too much code... as in if your core keywords appear way down the page.. and they should be as close to the top as possible..

    Im sure some of the gurus here can give you a more educated answer.. Im learning too :)
