First, if you are COPYING a website that is not yours and you do not have permission to copy it, you are STEALING.

Based on your request, it is obvious that you do not own the website. Since it is not yours, CONTACT THE WEBSITE OWNER AND GET HIM TO HELP YOU. Since he gave you his permission, he will help you if you ask.

You might have got too hot too early. Why not leave the caps alone and start from the simple assumption that chiller4life wants to move his website from static to a CMS driven platform. We all do it nowadays, requests to convert static html to WordPress, Joomla etc. are so common, and that doesn't necessarily mean people are "stealing". The javascript issue is well known, if you look a few (10-15) years back, many websites were developed with page builders like MS FrontPage, and their source code suffers big time, javascript being overused in many cases.

To chiller4life, try moving the HTML alone, and then decide which scripts are really needed and which can be removed/replaced. You may notice js standing behind simple image over effects in navigation bars that can (and should) be easily replaced with pure CSS stuff.

Read what chiller4life said. He said, "their website" and "they" so it is obviously NOT "his website." Therefore I stand by what I said.

we do have permission because the company i m working for puts their client websites on their cms system by using mainly css but some websites have javascript (forum, comments, pop ups) which i m not familier with so we put their website on our css system so they can customise it themselves

If I replace my words so that "his website" becomes "his project", are we good to go?

Assuming you're a legit web developer, if you need any side asssistance with the conversion, and if your company allows it, I can handle the javascript fixes or any replacements for you, depending on the situation. I can be reached via AIM/MSN/Yahoo/email and will need temporary FTP access to the files for that purpose, eventually, so that you know there's always an alternative if you get stuck at any point.
