HTACCESS redirect - File is in Subdirectory but I am using a Addon domain

Hi guys

I recently added a new domain to my exisiting server and that domain is linked to another subdirectory.

Tried to do a redirect but have been upable to get it to redirect when someone goes into http://www.askthecars.com/ to http://www.askthecars.com/cars.htm

Redirect permanent http://www.askthecars.com/index.htm http://www.askthecars.com/cars.htm
