.htaccess multiple rewrites

    Ok guys i have a few questions so i'm going to start off one at a time. I'm a newbie when it comes to htaccess so please be paitent with me lol.

    Ok i have multiple urls that i want to rewrite but i don't want to have to write a rule for each page

    so i have

    RewriteRule ^index_old.html$ http://localhost/test/index_new.html

    for me this works fine but if i have multiple pages i'm stuck because i'm not sure how to start my regex. can anyone shed some light on this?
