.htaccess file

    Is the .htaccess file always located on the server root.

    Im installing a mod for SMF called SEO 4 SMF and I have no .htaccess file in my server.

    I want to create it but i don't know where to put it. Im wondering if it is in the server root by default

    No .htaccess could be put anywhere.

    Just remember that you need to match the folder path inside the .htaccess (if you define one) with the folder you are using.

    It can be put anywhere...In your case, put it in the same folder as the smf installation
