.htaccess file issues

    Hi,
    I want to call include file (the file for navigation) for one of my websites as it is hosted with unix server, its working on the offline but once i get it uploaded it does not work . I have uploaded .htaccess file also but not working. please help me.

    Have you set the correct permissions on the .htaccess? Also is it in the correct folder?

    How are you including it, via shtml or php, also what is the code you are using on the page.
    What code did you upload to htaccess ?
    Giving an example page on your server would help us to help you as well.
