Hi All, I need a real .htacess redirect expert here so please don’t PM me if you can’t convince me that you know what you are talking about whether if it’s by examples, or via good feedback. The Task: We are currently almost done designing our new ecommerce website. We are keeping the same domain www.example.co.uk but have completely changed the structure of the site. The current (old) site uses PHP with dynamic urls such as: www.example.co.uk/shop/shop.php?action=full&id=166. These will need to all be directed to the new urls which are much more user friendly. eg www.example.co.uk/widgets/blue-widget I am in the process of creating an excel spreadsheet with the complete redirections which lists each url, and the new destination. There are approx 500 urls to redirect. Also, I will need some advice on how to proceed with regards to existing cached urls in Google. If necessary, the person will need to create a complete list of url removals for Google to digest although I am not sure what stage this should be done at.
