htaccess 301 Redirect Help Please

    There is a slight SEO problem with my site URL's for ?page=1 since they are a duplicate of the root page without the ?page=1 

    www.site.com/buy/keyword?page=1 should 301 redirect to:
www.site.com/buy/keyword

    This is what I tried but nothing is happening...

    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteRule buy/(.*)?page=1$ buy/$1 [R=301]

    Any tips?
