http://www.ukbusiness.hsbc.com/hsbc Check the Secure ePayments in the middle of the screen. There is relatively no information until you sign up. You can get them to send out a CD if you are already a merchant with them but I have received strict information that the software should not be shared with anyone.
I just noticed that HSBC uses the ClearCommerce engine as well. They do allow a PHP/XML interface to communicate with the server (at least Barclays does). Might be a bit late now but still...
It was all working until the 28th May when my server hosts decided to take mhash off the server for some reason. I emailed them about it last night but they haven't got back to me. I might have to change my server hosts if I can't get 100% reliability.
They did it with a PHP upgrade before which meant that half the sites on their servers went down because of incompatibility. I think it's pretty unprofessional to upgrade/downgrade features on the hosting without letting the clients know. Whats that 1 you're with again?
I can't see any reseller packages on their site. Do you know if they do them? I'm looking to host several sites on their own space so that each business can receive personalised statistics reports without me having to install some script.
More and more hosts are setting on the control panels auto update features. And even with it off you are not always sure just what they will update when you do run the procudure manually. A control panel update causing issues is one of the top reasons I get for sys admin help from hosts these days. I know http://premiumhosted.net/ has auto updates off at least.
The features I need for my hosting include : 5gb transfer or above, 500MB or above, mysql databases, PHP, mcrypt, mhash, SSL certificates would be good, high reliability and 24 hour customer support. There are so many hosting packages out there and I would be interested to hear other people's opinions on this issue. (Don't worry TOPS, I'm not ignoring your advice and will probably go with who you suggested. Just wondering what everyone else does)
This mod is available through OSC, it is easy to install and requires an SSL cettificate to run correctly. Any help on this let us know and we can assist if connected with OSC site
The last time I checked it wasn't still easy to install and depending on what kind of hosting server you have can determine whether you will be able to install it at all or not. I have set up around 6 different payment service providers systems and the HSBC 1 was the one that caused me the most grief. Not everyone wants to have to run OsCommerce just so they can use a certain payment service provider and the only support for this method is through the oscommerce forums. Not adviseable!!!
Sorry to drag up this old thread but I am just about to get to grips with the HSBC CPI too and was wondering how you got on Weirfire? I already have a site done and need to integrate the CPI. Paul
Are you using oscommerce? I've managed to get the HSBC CPI installed both on and off oscommerce now but I much prefer installing the likes of Protx or SecPay. HSBC very much requires specific server requirements which drove me crazy. lol
