dell desktops are just a pain in the butt to work on, I can't imagine the laptops would be better.
I've used hp's for years and years.. been great the whole way :D

Dell went to crap a while back and HP is mediocre at best. Try LG, good value for your money.

I would definately get a HP over a DELL anyday as Dell computers have a bad rep.

I have to use cooler pad if I want to use the laptop. :(

I just bought a Dell laptop and I am very pleased with it. Dell computers are also built strong so they won't break easily if they fall.

Go for the HP. There are lots of reasons to say this, but not the least of which is that HP doesn't lock you in with a bunch of overpriced propreitary parts, the costs are comparable, and I have found HP support to be far better than anything from Dell. Also, I have several friends who worked for Dell once upon a time and have nothing good to say about the company internally.

I have a 6 year old dell and I'm happy with it. I've never had an hp other than my printer so I couldn't really say what I think of them.

For me, i use HP because even though dell offers cheaper prices, their service is horrendous.
