    Hello Mark Hurd,

You might as well remove the "philanthropy request" option in the subject area and concentrate more on the well-being of your customers. That statement was a result of my frustration with HP: I had professional stuff to be done with the help of high resolution scanning and printing. The machine didn't work when it was most needed.

    I purchased a HP LaserJet 3050 in mid-April 2006. This is the product's serial no: CNCJ238271

In less than two months, the machine conked. I reported this to the HP customer care and this is my customer complaint no: 2209103801

The report was filed on 28th June, 2006. Until now, I have had customer support engineers come in and go stating that spare parts need to be changed. In total, this is the 4th visit up until today by HP customer support engineers. Today again, the same old cock and bull story after some replacements. This time the cable is faulted.

    1) How many stories does HP need to cook up before my 3050 model begins to work?

    2) If this system does have a recurring problem, then why sell it in the market?

    3) Are your staff well-trained to handle customer-care problems? Are your staff educated at all? Do they know what is customer-care? Do they know what is retention? Does HP India have proper HR staff while selecting employees? Some of the senior employees at the premises I contacted found difficulty in conversing in English.

    4) The usual answer is "Please give us 24 hours time so that we can have the spare part". Are you people familiar with the term back up? Chennai is a metropolitan city and every customer has to wait 24-hours for spare parts.
    Great!!!

    5) When will my printer-cum-scanner-cum-fax-cum-copier work?

The persons involved in my case are Mr. Vivek (the Manager), Mr. Siva (the co-ordinator) and Jagan Jacob. Here is the contact detail of the local HP customer care center:

    Mr.Vivek,
    Manager,
Hewlett Packard India Sales Private Ltd
    Peters Road
    Chennai - 600086
    Ph: 91-44-28352784, 91-44-28352785, 28352786

I hope you do the necessary to put HP customer care in place. Let me know your thoughts. In fact, the whole system at Chennai needs to be revamped.

    The day after:
Today, after the 5th visit, your HP jokers have come to
realize that this is a critical error and that the printer has to be taken
to the service center. Almost 10 days to realize that this is a critical
    error!!! Brilliant!!!

On day number one, I pleaded with HP to do something about it but HP took advantage of this. Now I'll warn people on important forums such as DigitalPoint.com to avoid HP and Compaq products.

I am a Compaq Presario customer too. Since it's purchase I have not written one CD or DVD using the CD/DVD-RW. When sent for a servicing at Redington for a couple of times, one Mr Arul Samuel was full of excuses that the CD/DVD RW drive will function once a service representative arrives. Till now, even after the warranty period no service-man has arrived.

As the case with Redington, it's predictable that incompetent companies like HP will outsource to incomptetent service providers like Redington.

All in all HP is a miserable failure.
