For purposes of infringement, it doesn't matter what "up" stands for. Hp filed for a registered trademark in January of last year. What exactly is your concern?

As I stated, it wouldn't make a difference what "up" stands for. If your service has been online since 11/2006 (not just when the domain was registered, but actually being used for the current service) then you should be able to show prior usage and shouldn't have any problems from HP for infringement. It doesn't make any difference if you register the domain name as a company - the real issue would be if HP claimed you started your domain usage in an attempt to ride their goodwill or was causing consumer confusion. As it seems your usage predates theirs, it shouldn't be a problem - no bad faith.
