Ok so I just started my new affiliate website (its in my sig) and I was hoping I could get some constructive critisism on my marketing campaign. The steps so far that I have taken are the following: -Submitted URL to Alexa, Google, Yahoo, MSN, Dmoz, and about 50 other Directories -Written 2 articles published on ezinearticles -Joined this and 2 other forums on which I contribute daily with my site in my sig -Sometimes put adds on Adwords, but yet to get a conversion so temporarily paused. -Tried to SEO my site hopefully when it gets updated on Google ill get some keywords ive done a little linking not much at all. If I could get some help anything would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for reading and check out the site!
Work, Work, Work, and don't wish for hits. Imagine if you had 5,000 visitors everyday. Now imagine where they are coming from. Now target your efforts to get traffic from those sites.
Keep track of methods that you have tried, or trying. When I try something new I track visitors, goal completions, revenue generated, stuff like that. Results can be suprising, and will help you find what works best.
Looking at some of my own notes as an example. I always thought spending a lot of time getting backlinks was a good idea, but the reality is my time was better spent posting information on forums. I get way more out of forums than back links. Backlinks may help you for ranking, but often just drive traffic to your site that has little value.
