How's My eBay Affiliate Site Performing?

I set up a niche eBay affiliate site earlier this month and have 3 sales for the 158 clicks - almost 2%. Is this about average?

Interestingly 2 of the 3 sales were for something unrelated to my keywords so it's really like 1 related sale in 158 clicks.

Sounds good to me. Once you have a few sales on the go, you have something to work with and improve.

I'm marketing via AdWords only at this point and spending $1.20 per day (about 5 to 15 cents per click) while I run this experiment. I get about 10 - 15 unique visitors per day which results about 8 eBay clicks per day. I'd like to get some organic traffic at some point too and am working on that. Sorry, I'd prefer not to share the site at this time.

The results after the first month of my eBay affiliate site:

I just picked up a 4th sale after 212 eBay clicks from 309 unique visitors for total sales of $6.94. The sale to click ratio is still almost 2% and I'm making about $1.75 per sale. Two of the items were in the $150 range on eBay but only 1 of 4 sales actually corresponds to the keyword of the affiliate site.

I've spent about $22 in Adwords to get those sales and unfortunately that is my only source of traffic at this point. I also pulled in $2.14 on Adsense.

Now I need to figure out how to drive some search engine traffic my way...

I dont think there are free ways, you have to buy the BAN scripts.

That is not really true - the part of "you have to buy the BANs script". You can buy BANs, phpBay Pro, or code it yourself using a RSS to html program like Carp. Carp is almost free but takes the most work. phpBay Pro is $39. Both are cheaper options than BANs. But BANs is more setup for beginners and has more features out of the box.

I prefer phpBAY Pro since I can build my own sites and they have a plugin for Wordpress that makes it a bit easier to create customize for me. And it is cheaper :).

This is cool - I had 34 eBay clicks yesterday and 24 today which resulted in 3 more sales. It was less than $3 in commissions but I'm happy to be getting the sales. My click to sale rate is almost 3% now. All of this was due to about 40 Adword clicks. No organic traffic yet as I'm still trying to figure out how to do that.

Auctionads is a bit different than those other scripts mentioned. The other are true scripts where you have more control and can better integrate into a store format. You could mimic this with aucitonads of course but it would not look as nice or would be as easy depending on the format. I would auctionads to add income to an existing site for example. I would use phpBay pro to create an entire site around ebay items usually around a particular niche.

The only benefit with auctionads is that it should have a better payout for those just starting out. Not sure by how much though.
