I bought an expired domain today and the Alexa rank is in the top 1000....its dmoz listed twice. Is this real? Please let me know heh. URL: indian ridge music . com
Because it was a homestead.com (indianridgemusic.homestead.com) page. Alexa only looks at the top-most domain. Homestead is ranked 996, so anything on the homestead domain is also ranked 996. See this chart: http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?site0=indianridgemusic.com&site1=homestead.com&site2=&site3=&site4=&y=r&z=1&h=300&w=540&range=6m&size=Medium&url=indianridgemusic.com Any other Homestead web page, like http://www.wvsr.homestead.com/ for instance, will have the same Alexa rating. Hope that explains it.
