I certainly get traffic on several topics, on one site. I have no idea whether the individual topics would get more traffic (or links or both) if I had them on several websites. I certainly don't feel like trying because of hosting costs.

There are lots of excellent tips here, thanks loads :)
I also find it hard to imagine that you can keep the quality up after managing 100 websites, unless you do some heavy outsourcing.

It is not easy as proclaimed. Only affiliate sites, auto piloted sites can be ok. But would not get much response , i feel so.

It seems like a very interesting topic, but this is just my own opinion; I would like to say that there are all kind of people out there. There are decisive people who develop a real high quality sites with unique content, and there are some who doesn't care almost about anything but just to have a website up and running. I rather build a few sites that have the quality that real people want, not just a fruitless one. It's important who you are or what you are?

I wouldn't worry so much about being an MFA site. It seems to me EZA is an MFA and Google gives them a whole lot of love. I don't think you should worry too much about unique content either. Article directories and news sites (think CNN.com) are information aggregation sites, full of duplicate content and Google gives them a whole lot of love too.

What you should care about is the visitor experience. What is the visitor looking for when he comes to your site. What is the best way to give the visitor what he wants and make some money too. For adsense sites you want some very good original articles, think linkbait, but you can mix it up with some auto generated content too. As long as the visitor experience is very good you should be okay.

For instance, let's say you put up a site about cappuccino machines. You could post some good original content, evergreen content, about coffee drink recipes, different grades and quality of coffee, beans, grinds. These kinds of article will be relevant for a very long time. Then ad some auto generate content like best selling coffee equipment from Amazon.com along with user generated content. This is still very relevant and on topic. If I was visiting this site I would like to see this information. Sprinkle in some well designed adsense ads and you could have a money maker that Google will be happy with too.
Now imagine putting up one of these sites each week. In 2 years you would have more than 100 sites all working on auto pilot. You should never need to touch them again. And as long as the content is useful and relevant to your visitors Google should leave you alone forever.

    Just my 2 cents.

You better make a few quality websites than hundreds of crappy ones.

There is no need to build 100 sites. If you choose related topics you can just build onto a couple websites. I have 5 or 6 sites that are all related but within those sites I cover 30 or 40 related topics. There is no reason why the index page of your site has to be the most popular. I have some sites where the home page does not come up on the first page of the search engines but some of the inner pages of the site come up first or second on page one for certain keywords. If you keep all your topics somewhat related and just on a few websites you are more likely to work on all of them than if you have 100 different sites. Plus when you run across a good topic or micro niche page within your site and people start finding it on the search engines you will already have links built in to all your other related pages.
