I've personally never heard of a single instance when Google emailed a webmaster. Why would they? If you received an email that claims to be from Google I'd be interested in what the topic was

Suspicious mails claiming to be the one from reputed concerns like paypal, ebay or google can be detected by the phishing filter in the IE or FF browser and never ever part with your username and password. If you want to go that site but not sure whether it is phishing or not, open a new window (again not following the phishing link, that is dangerous!) and type your UN and PW...

Reply to the email and ask for some verification that it's from google? I'm sure they're not going to flip out at you for being a little suspicious.

It looks like a legitimate email sometimes you can look at the email address
you were emailed from and you will be able to tell whether or not the email
is legitimate. However, to be on the safe side you should contact google
through google webmaster tools and ask them if they sent you this email.

Check the email header using advance view in you MSN settings, and never click on any live links within the email content.
The best way to avoid scams is to open a new browser windows/tab and type the URL instead or clicking direct links ;)

Care to share one of those pages they are complaining about? A LOT of publishers think they aren't doing anything wrong when they are infact (perhaps unknowingly) violating TOS and/or Policies.

Like other people have said, you need to check the raw headers of the email to see what the source is. If you say what email program you are using, people here can help you do that. Also, have you logged into your Adsense account? There may be a message there for you (actually I don't know if that's true, but it can't hurt to check).

In the mean time, review your web site(s) and make sure it is in strict compliance with the Adsense program policies and terms. If you list your site here, people can make suggestions for you.
