    The general directory market has been saturated for a long time. I wouldn't make a paid general directory now without a VERY solid business plan and a decent amount of funds to invest.

    If u really want to pay in dir. then spend for yahoo dir. which will be profitable in form of traffic.

    You can make it paid when you have pr in inner pages, though it takes long time to reach that.

    No it doesn't! It takes one PR export (aprox 3 months) to reach that if you do everything correctly.
