Just out of interest, how would you rank the following in order of prestige, though I do appreciate it depends on the sector and country?:

    .com
    .net
    .org
    .biz
    .info
    .name
    .us
    .eu
    .ws

Interesting that people rate .info so highly. Any reason why (compared to .us, .biz etc.)?

With the internet being an informational resource, .info seems very appropriate :)

.EU is not really going yet - The domain opens to the general public (resident within the European Community) on April 7. .EU could be a flop or it could quickly move into second or third place, I would say more likely the later.

I think the internet was supposed to have been and informational resource :) When I was running my internet business from college because I couldn't afford to login at home, 90% of the students were in chat rooms, writing emails or looking at pictures of semi-clad women. I'd constantly be trying to focus on designing my sites, learn PHP etc. while they'd be crowding around the computer next to me to look at some "babe".

Most people log on to read emails, write about their aspirations to become a mega popstar at myspace or view porn. .info is not relevant for any of that. It's a pity how few people do use the internet as a resource to increase their knowledge, network to make the world a better place, or to set up a business that could allow them to improve their lives.
