How Would You Monetize This Site?

Discussion in 'Reviews' started by SeanBlue, Dec 13, 2008.

A few months ago I started a new site SeanBluestone.com and after a week I was seeing around 700 unique hits per day. That's now tailed off a bit to around 200 per day, but I'm confident I can boost that back up with a bit of link building.

My problem is that the site really isn't making that much money. Currently I'm using AdSense and CPALead on a few pages, but neither are making anything more than a dollar or two per day.

I would like to know if anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how to monetize this site, or any general feedback at all?

    Cheers

Try selling some blogroll links. Direct ad sales usually earn more than adsense.

Cool site. I'd just keep writing and building it up, and then look for ad deals with specific companies / do reviews.

With the amount of traffic you are getting, you can always allocate a space for direct advertising.

I don't see where you place the adsense block .
Try to adjust the position of the ads , have ad rotate, try cpa affilliate network .

Google ads just dont pay well - an adbrite or bidvertiser campaign might see you do a lot better than what Google can offer.

700 uniques a day unfortunately may see some advertisers turn you down, as most would want at least 2000 before approving you. And blogs unfortunately, can turn off a lot of advertisers.

What you could try doing is pre-popping google ads within your own interstitials, with a 10second delay between loading new pages. A lot of webmasters have found this a very effective way of making more money though CPC campaigns.

Hope this helps :) and the best of luck in getting your hits back to their normal amounts :)

That sounds like a good start :)
You can offer writing blog reviews for anyone who need to get some exposure for their website. I am sure there are people who will be interested.
