A forumish humor site. Basically it has a forum for discussion, and the funny stuff there gets promoted to the front page. I only have experience using SEO to drive traffic, something that won't really help here. I have gotten the forum off the ground, I have pretty substantial amount of content on both it and the front page but I can't get real users to register and join in. If you have experience in this area I would love to hear your thoughts. And if you could be specific that would be great. Just saying "social media" doesn't really help me.
Good idea... I think you should SEO it as well mate. I'm not 100% sure on the audience. Perhaps a newsletter too??? People like to laugh no? Try getting a few links from some top comedy organisations. Maybe place banners on their site's for a small fee. A lot of niche websites will be happy for you to cover the cost of their hosting.
