How would YOU market this site?

Hi everyone, I recently got a hold of the site: www.therepublican.info.

It's an auto updating site that has just been published to the web. I'm no marketing expert but I know this has to be an easy site to attract visitors to.

I'm looking to put some time into promoting this site then hopefully it will get up on it's own 2 feet and keep going.

If YOU owned this site, What would you do to promote it?

    Thanks everyone!

Try adding a link on the republican page on wikipedia, post it on yahoo answers. And maybe the politics discussion section of craigslist.

Also start building links by blog commenting there are plenty of politics blogs out there.

Produce a Video (or more) and post them to You Tube for example!

Yeah, Do you think some sort of direct advertising would work for a site like this? were you find a site similar to yours and pay for advertising on that site?

I'm willing to pay a little.

    Any ideas?

Hire SEO specialist and your site will get much more popular, but you should know there is big money in SEO!

First step is to stop autoupdating and write real, relevant, unique content on the subject. You'll never rank for any GOOD keyword with automated content.

Whoa man! before I'd do anything, I would calm the background image down... I think I just had a seizure :(

You could put the url in your signature and post to forums related to politics. I actually get some good traffic from my signature from DP.

To me this looks like digg, of the republican party. If I were you I would try to get something like digg comments, rate (digg/bury) stories, an option for people to log in, submit stories, start their own thread/discussion, etc. Honestly, as a republican, I would not come back to your site after the first visit because I can find the content that you have on your site almost anywhere else. You gotta do something more than what you currently have on that site...
