Hi fellas I recently wrote an e-book and put up a site for it. I know of a few ways to go about marketing it, but for some reason I'm starting to get the feeling that it's a very un-marketable book, so I am looking for advice on which direction to go. I'm not looking for free advertising by posting this thread, but if this thread is against forum rules, moderators please delete it. I apologize since I'm new here The e-book is health-related, and you can find it at http://www.sleepwarrior.com (live links are not available for me yet on DP). Sales are through e-junkie. It is about learning to get by on less sleep. Unfortunately, it has a gimmicky ring to it, but it's a topic I've been legitimately interested in on and off for a couple years now -- mostly because of its relevance going through college. It's hard to see if there's any real appeal to an e-book like this, so it's not going to sell itself. If you were me, what would you do to maximize profits, even if it's just a trickle of sales at first, anything to get started? Would you provide free articles on the site, use adwords, generate a mailing list, try to sell through affiliates...? Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to this, but at the very least I'm having fun with it already. Thank you.
Affiliates - yes. Mailing List - absolutely. Adwords - if budget allows. Team up with someone else who has a big list and offer them a % of all sales? Yes. Develop a sales page? uh huh. Offer free information to help establish yourself as an authority on the subject? Yeah, OK. Implement these and call me in the morning? You got it. BV
Deal. Have 3 free articles ready to post. Just have to implement them into the site. For a mailing list -- Aweber?
As you may know, a secret key to a product promotion is the existing demand in the market. To be honest with you, if there is not enough search around a topic, then how would you be able to find customers? So, I guess you have missed the first step. But, there is still some hope. Your product could be valuable because it is addressing a problem and I know it is a serious issue. businessviking has mentioned some great ways in this approach. I would insist on two of them: 1. You can get a lot of affiliates and have them promote your product. Clickbank is the leader company in this case and you can sign up as a vendor and start getting affiliates. PayDotCom is another option. 2. Put a subscription form on your site and collect names and e-mail addresses in exchange for a FREE report or a newsletter. Then, start promoting to your list by providing them with great information. I would recommend AWeber in this case. Hope you find it helpful! Good Luck! HM
You can give out review copy to get feedback from reader. And post the feedback at your website. It will make you customer feel more confident with your product
