How would you market OneMillionSubscribers.com

So I have just launched a site trying to get 1 million RSS subscribers. How would you best market http://www.onemillionsubscribers.com without resorting to spam or anything uncool?

Any ideas anyone?

Perhaps a contest of some kind? Would you subscribe with your email if you could win something?

 

Thats it, looks like you've had a good start. It made my stomach turn upside down and thats a key factor.

Its exciting.

You dont need to give people a reason to subscribe, the reason is the whole point you ever made that blog. to get 1 million subscibers. Give a site review and a mention to sites that link to you, tell people a bit about your daily life, updates on subscibers thats it.

Add pics of yourself. Reinforce your innocence, personality - People like helping small people grow.

You'd make a million dollars, let alone a million subscribers.

 

Not really in it to make money. Just seeing if I can actually get 1 Million subscribers.

 

I respect that, but maybe a small google ad at the top, will make it pay its way?

Unless you want to use my google ID and put some ads on?

There is no point to subscriber to your blog, at least offer something.

 

What would you subscribe for? Money? A link? Just out of the kindness of your heart?

yeah - the best thing would be to give a REASON for someone to subscribe..

getting dugg on Digg might help too

 

You could definately do some viral marketing. Tell a friend script and all that.

Another thing you can do is make a banner that makes a webmaster want to show it like:

AS SEEN ON ONEMILLIONSUBSCRIBERS or

APPROVED BY ONEMILLIONSUBSCRIBERS

somthing like that, if they show the banner, promise to mention their site cheerfully!

I do have other ideas too... Could be BIG

If they subscribe with the Feedburner Email subscription I can access their email addresses. I have thought about giving away cash or perhaps iTunes gife certificates etc.
