How would you know if someone stole your code?

It has happened - I guess to a bunch of people. But I am sitting here thinking (On my great throne again) about how one would know if someone stole their code? Currently the reports in the Adsense CP don't necessarily show what pages/links are being clicked. The only person who could possible have this information is google.

I'm just thinking... someone steals your code. Puts it on a site that is totally against Google's TOS. Or, Clicks the hell out of it, and boom, you're like a dead fish in water.

I think, it would be a good idea to implement a policy that makes you state what site your code will be running on. And further... Will on the afore mentioned sites. I think it would decrease the amount of Fraud Liabilty to Google and it's publishers. Any takers on this?

You have nothing to do about it, if you are a small publisher they will simply ban you, what they gonna lose by banning you anyway ... millions of dollars ....they already have enough of that ....

Honestly, why would someone take the time to do this?

Yes, I get your point, but shouldn't G be able to check and separate fraud from click bombing?

Maybe I ask 2 much from them, dunno.

Tyler, you're such a nice guy. I know you're much to busy and nice to think of anyone ever doing anything that wouldn't benefit them personally in the long run. But there are lots of sick and crazy people out there who would knock your grandmother down with a baseball bat if they thought it would be funny.

You'd be surprised at what some people take the time to do. Look at all the virus' out there. There is no real gain from it. Other than the thrill of screwing with someone else's life. That's what most virus creators get their thrill from. Screwing with other people. Other's banned from Adsense, some feel the need to take someone else down with them. You know the old saying "If I can't have it... No one can."
