how would you handle this domain move?

The company I work for has a domain that is almost 8 years old, and has been used for that amount of time.

Now, we're "rebranding" the entire company and introducing lots of new services. The URL will be changing to a new URL. What can be done to retain the PR benefits of that old URL? A 301 redirect? Or something else?

    Thanks

You could change the old domain into a splash page that links to the new domain...

I was thinking about that - like an "update your bookmarks..." page. In short, I wouldn't want them to lose a PR5 domain, but I can't figure out what the best option is.
