How would you explain Adwords to an 8 year-old?

    I've got an 8 year old daughter and I've had to do this.

    I told her Adwords is a business that sells ads on the internet.

    When you search for "barbies" people can buy ads to show up when you do that.

    I usually show her a couple examples.

    I would wonder why you would want to explain it to an 8 year old.
    However, the answers do sound sensible.
