A friend of mine is building his first website. I have been helping him out with finding hosting, domain registrars, etc, but I can't seem to get him to understand how to structure his website around keywords, do keyword research, and even basic SEO tactics. Everything I try to tell him goes above his head basically, and I'm getting frustrated. I love to help, but even why I try to lay down the most simplest concepts, he can't seem to grasp them. Anyone know how I can better explain or where I can show him a few guides about the total basics of SEO and that sorta stuff?
Get him to read a beginners seo tutorial or two. seomoz or seobook might be good options. It's just a matter of convincing him that search engines are all based around keywords. If you don't have those keywords on your site or in your incoming links, the search engines have no way of knowing what your site is about and thus won't give you rankings.
If he can't understand the basics even after you've explained it to him and showed him, then obviously this industry isn't cut out for him. Save yourself a headache and tell him to kick rocks. Not everyone can do this stuff. Otherwise everyone would. Hah.
Hi, I'll never describe, it's kinda useless. You have all you need in Wikipedia, just let him Google it
I hate referencing other sites but tell him go here http://thirtydaychallenge.com/ best site for beginners to learn how to internet market. That's how I learned
