How would i market this site.

    its a forum for the PS3 but i have no experience marketing forums. any help will be gratefully accepted. ps3community.co.uk is the url if you needed to know.

    It depends....what are you giving to them? a forum where you can discuss ps3 stuff right?

    what is the audience for that? teens? young people?

    who is on myspace? YOUNG PEOPLE! yay.

    Well...myspace is one way to go...All i can say is find the audience and they viral effect of the community will take effect and snowball if you have good lively discussions going.

    i would advise you to learn about the ps3 more then any other in the forum...try hosting a contenst or 2. BEST SCREEN SHOTS all that good stuff....thats all fun stuff...

    create forums for separate games so people can get into that stuff too...

    If you have some cash to spend develop some graphic ads and use google to site target other PS3 or gaming sites. The CPM's are usually pretty low for gaming sites so you should be able to get some decent exposure. Make your ads unique so you can get a high clickthrough %.....

    You could join some groups on Yahoo or MSN which are related to consoles or PS3 and try to gather some members there. The issue with forums is you need activity there in order to get activity. Nobody will post in a dead forum, so you might wish to kickstart it yourself by using a forum posting service to converse with real members to get it building up. Forums generally do extremely well once they take hold and are about a lasting topic, so good luck. Let us know how it goes!

    You have to put more weights on newsgroup and social bookmarking, even myspace. People with PS3 otaku will look for their friends so faster is better, let them know you're here!! In my opinion, PPC is should be used in get both traffics and site awareness.

    Oh, don't forget to start make some fake post, even post it yourself regularly before let people come to your site. People need forums with regular activity basis and some reaction and contents so put weights on it too.
