How would I go about this?

I have been a freelance content writer for about four years now (actually, four years come this September). During those four years, I would say majority of my work has come through various clients found through these type of forums (DP has been my most successful client-builder to date).

Of all the types of content I have created, I would say that short, detailed reviews have been the staple of my work. I have written countless of reviews, for all types of sites, businesses, etc.

However, (this is the purpose of this post) I never have been able to get returning customers. I have spoken to clients and friends of whom I've written for, and they have said that they loved my reviews... but just won't need another review for a while.

So, my question is: What way(s) do think would be best for creating returning customers, and without sacrificing the quality and customer-satisfaction?

    Thanks.

I would suggest use promotional and marketing methods to get them to come back. E.g. Collect their names and emails, and use it to send them discount coupons every once in a while for your services; Offer discounts for bulk orders...etc.

I'm not quite sure if your going to be able to do anything more if you're already providing a quality service; increasing the demand won't be possible unless you were able to increase your clients confidence by ensuring them that from using your services, they will be able to make their money back or benefit from it greatly.

Try to continue to get new clients and encourage your existing/previous clients to tell their friends...etc.

You could offer a followup survey to clients, and grab their emails for continued marketing.

You should try to make some suggestion for your client how and what content need to put at their site to get more traffic.
Other than that, you can also try give out freebies such as buy 1 article free 1.
